HOW TO PLAY
Farm Wars is an online PVP game with a day and night cycle. During the day, you purchase seeds and plant your fields. At night, you launch attacks on your opponent using your chosen animal. You can safeguard your crops with defensive items available in the shop. You have the option to create a game lobby and await other players or invite your friends. Alternatively, you can directly join another lobby or opt for a Quick Match to compete against players from around the world. If you prefer solo play, you can challenge artificial intelligence.

EARLY GAME
At the start of the game, each player sets the price for their fields. Then, these prices are compared. Half of the difference between the highest and lowest field prices is added to the starting gold of the player with the lower-priced field.

DURING THE GAME
Once the game begins, players can purchase seeds and items from the shop, plant their fields, and fortify their defenses. When the day ends, night falls.

ANIMAL SELECTION SCREEN
Players kick off the nights by selecting animals. If a player doesn't choose an animal within the allotted time, a random selection will be made for them. You can select the same animal up to two times in a row. Selecting the same animal for two consecutive nights will lock it for the following night.

NIGHTTIME
During the night, players teleport to each other's fields after the animal selection screen. If your opponent has set up defensive items against your chosen animal, you cannot attack that area. You can attack and destroy unprotected areas by clicking on them, preventing your opponent from earning money from those crops. If you destroy a crop where your opponent has placed a mine, you'll be eliminated. When you're eliminated, you cannot attack until the next night.

END GAME
You win when your gold reaches the field price that your opponent set at the beginning. If a player fails to reach the target gold by the 10th day, the player with the closest gold value to their opponent's field price wins.

  • Blueprinting and meticulously documenting the Game Design Document (GDD) as the foundational guide for the online game's development.
  • Conceptualizing and designing game mechanics, including the farm-like ambiance of in-game maps for an immersive player experience.
  • Spearheading the design of the tutorial system, ensuring a seamless and informative onboarding process.
  • Managing in-game lighting for enhanced atmospheric effects.

Art Direction

  • Functioning as a project manager for environment and UI/UX designs, fostering collaboration between developers and artists.
  • Overseeing the creation of visually stunning and user-friendly designs aligned with target audience preferences.

Game Launch & Marketing

  • Assuming full responsibility for Steamworks tasks, including the creation and management of the game's page and utilization of SteamPipeGUI.
  • Managing game and company social media accounts, actively contributing to marketing efforts.

Additional Contributions

  • Collaborated on lighting and shader aspects, enhancing visual aesthetics.
  • Developed clean, efficient, and scalable code, optimizing game performance through extensive testing and debugging.
  • Assigned tasks, created to-do lists for team members, ensuring effective coordination.
  • Utilized project management tools such as Github, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Worked extensively with Blueprint classes to develop robust and flexible gameplay mechanics.
